Hello there, I finally received the size adapter and installed the Intel 6200 (btw, the cable of the AUX antenna is damn short!). Besides range and power consumption (range seems fine, and I'm not sure about power), the Wireless Switch Utility is messing here. Tested a few versions: - 3.3.00.02140: ...

Nice to know, but here come the same question: will a PCIe card with WiFi+BT handle well the bluetooth led light and the Wireless Switch Utility?. And also, I guess that BT antenna may be used for the cards that need a third one. BT operates in the same band, so I guess it will match and have no SWR.

Interesting post cowboy. I know of a friend who has a broken laptop with a 6200, maybe I should try it (I need however the size adaptor). The real dilemma here is: to auditor or not to auditor. Having an Atheros card would be so great for Backtrack/Wifiway, and would reduce the need of carriying my ...

I have been thinking about replacing the WiFi card of my UX. I have in mind an Atheros card, since they are great for auditoring and the N models use only 2 antennas, but I have some questions I hope you can help me with: 1. Do the "Wireless Switch Setting Utility" works well with any other card, be...

It worked for me perfectly. Many thanks ozkaya. I don't want to abuse, but, it would be nice to know how other mods can be done, like it's possible on others VAIOs. And, by the way, you should know that letting the CMOS battery discharge, or making a BIOS restore defaults (Get Default Values) will r...

if you have modded your processor will the recivery dvd still work, does the vaio recovery wizard check for processor thanks I would say yes. Both, the booteable program of the DVD (on most brands, it will fail to continue booting from the unit if the verification fails) and the OEM activation syst...
