Thanks for the info, would you explain further what you mean about the internal/external LCD? Did you just mean it can't auto switch to an external monitor?

By "old windows" you mean windows XP right? I thought about using Daemon or something similar, but are you sure that will work? I mean don't you need to boot the UX from the Vista DVD in order to install it?

How can you install Vista RC1 without a DVD drive?

From what I read on the official Windows Vista site, in order to install RC1, I need to brun the downloadable ISO to a DVD, then use that to install it... 2 problems 1) I dont have a working DVD burner. 2) I dont have a DVD/CD drive for my UX.

Is there any way around this?

Very nice for something thats totally home made : ) However, if I were to get/make a car mount, I would want one that looks a bit prettier, you know to fit the slick looks of the UX180. However, I highly doubt I could make one by myself, so nice work, I'm sure it wasnt easy. Two question though- 1. ...

Thank you, benz! Of the 21 gb, how much data storage do you have? I have 5 small hdd for my desktop. What I meant to say was you have 21 GB of storage space when you get it clean out of the box. It is a 30 GB hard drive, but appearently 9 GB is taken up by software that comes already installed.

I know I was very dissapointed when I got my UX180 new out of the box, and it only had about 21GB of space left after all the other files. I would go with a 60GB if you had the option. Small external HDDs are also a good alternative.
