I have a question

Postby nyy13lal24dal9 » Sun Feb 20, 2011 01:56

I just bought a ux390n off ebay, the person said its a week old and it comes with the basics. I bought it for $465. Is that a good price? and how good is the 390n

That IS a good price for a 390 (if it's in good shape & works OK). UX390n is just below the top-of-the-line 490. 32 GB ssd is a bit small for most folks, esp. with Vista, esp. with the recovery partition. It's still way better/faster than the old HDD & is super energy efficient. Most people would lose Vista & the partition (burn yourself DVD's if you ever want to go back)- then install Win7 or XP.

1 GB ram & 1.33 GHz core solo cpu will stomp most netbooks (at the expense of battery life)

And the last bit, is that it has the coveted black housing. I used to scoff at everyone drooling over 390/490 while turning their noses up at silver housings, until I got a good deal on a 390 palmrest/ keyboard...and well... it looks pretty bitchin' cool. I took the old silver housing & repaired a "parts" UX180 as a gift for a friend in UK- who is now a UX convert.

It's a good price... perhaps too good? There's no way that it could be a week old because the UX390 isn't produced anymore... might want to double check with them about what they mean by that. Maybe they mean they've only used it for a week?

The price is great. The "1 week old" is difficult to believe. Maybe your seller meant that they have had it only for 1 week (i.e. got it from someone else, did not like it, and resold it to you). If all works ok, then you got yourself a great deal!
