I used the vista drivers from Sull's package. I didn't have any problem with the sound. I didn't put it on my 490N it was on the 390N that I just sold. I didn't have any complaints from my stepson Russell who was using it... except that it ran slower than he expected.

I am pretty well over my experimentation with other OS's at the moment. I just pulled Server 2008 off my UX and put XP back on a couple days ago. XP might not be as flashy but when I need to get my work done it doesn't fail me.

I have succesfully installed windows 7 alpha 6801 on my UX280P it runs much faster than xp and puts vista to shame and it dosent use much ram and dosent have many idle tasks
i think windows 7 is an ideal os for the ux

They are going to be putting a lot of touch screen capabilities into Windows 7. I am surprised to see this here because before I even saw this thread, I thought that Windows 7 would be the best OS for the UX. It is low in RAM, based around touch, and the Beta will be releaced to public in December FTW! XD

Sorry, too excited about all the things that will happen Dec.-Jan.

When you say "flashy" might you happen to mean quick?
This news I hear
about win 2008 sounds kinda good but it's vista kernel or what ever call it.

check out these Benchmarks i did on my sisters built for Vista laptop:
XP

VISTA

on the vista one i used configuration script to disable many things but still the pc raped in it's gdi and fpu

and there also was some other alteration to make this vista faster like taking out user account control and still it's weak of benchmark

I was saying that XP's Luna doesn't look as flashy as Vista's Aero.

Clearly XP runs significantly faster than Vista on any hardware.

XP keeps me coming back. I used server 2008 for about a month. I would probably use OSX or some Linux variant if I wasn't married to developing .NET web applications with Visual Studio. I could take a job developing Java (J2EE) but I don't really want a job. I just want to freelance.

Good luck if you want to try OSX, my ux is currently sitting without an OS because I can not seem to get OSX to boot on mine.
