Android on the UX?
android games would be designed for android resolutions. ux has pc like resolution, hence why linux is more suitable for now

When i tryed android my my acer aspire one. It is esentioly the same system. I didnt realy have any driver probloms. I am just a little woried about the touch panel on the ux.
I found that android coped fine with the res. It streched it a little but did seem to be doing ut by the pixle. When i open some apps things where smaller but i was still fine. I think just a problom with 1.6. Rememer the iphone 4 has that super high rez and other phones will start having that. I did notes that the mini x10 cant run some apps cos of the small rez. Android was desined to run on all sorts or resalutions
I am looking for the hole android store and everything rather than being limeted to the non main stream stuff of ubuntu ect
Have you guys seen the new netbooks coming out that dule boot android?

thanks for the info wishmaster, and welcome to microp
Suspect to get wifi working, like osx the wifi card has to be an exact model that the OS can recognize.
As for sound and touchscreen, it may be harder to get these going since android is a relatively new OS and would be designed to support newer hardware. Unless android gets alot more popularity on the UX it may never work correctly.
Thats why I prefer linux, as it seems to work in the reverse, as in it supports older hardware better than new hardware. I will try at a latter stage running android on ubuntu. Since they are both based on unix, translation code should be minimal, and hence android running in ubuntu should work relatively well.
Look forward to hearing how running this latitude image will fare.

blaster, if the drivers are "open sourced" and have their code open for public to use, then it may be possible to recompile the driver for android. It also depends on how similar the kernels are.
This may be a good project for you to start blaster!
Based on the setup mares to get android going seems even harder than getting linux going on the ux, ones got to wonder what are the advantages going for android over linux?
Also remember all the android based tablets and phones seems to have some sort of 3D acceleration built in, so alot of games may not work correctly on the ux.
