Fixing spastic glidestick on ux*

Unfortunately, I lost the tree that I used to make the fix/change a while ago - and I no longer have a UX.

When I get back from traveling I can see if I have an offline copy on one of my external drives at home. I made use of the linux version of the driver to find the extra option to set to make the thumbstick behave better.

The problem is that your modified kext wonderfully worked in X v10.4 and X v10.5 too, but it does not work in Snow Leopard.

The link to original ApplePS2ControllerAndALPS.kext.zip is down - google returns just that one link. Does anybody have by any chance the original file?

Use windows or Ubuntu, there are fixes for glide stick for these operating systems

Thanks for the response - I guess the debate will roll on - I have a Macbook Air - with Win7 running on Parallels, and a Q1 running Win7 - all work very well...... however.... like many others - to have Mac OS X running on a small portable (as portable as the Mac Air is...) is a huge plus for us OS X lovers. All OSs have their application and place. There seem to be people requesting this and willing to work on it - if someone has the file..... why can it not be made available - that's all we ask

Hey, great to see the forum tidying up - I still refer to it often.... now come on - SOMEONE out there must have the file for the spastic ALPS mouse..... please please post here if you have it.... I trawled the net again and all links are dead.....

If anyone wants to get the UX working quite well with Snow Leopard 10.6.8 mine does. I could even arrange send you a BOOTABLE 32Gb USB stick with a SL installation on.... all you have to do is boot to it, and do a Restore to the hard drive.... then load Chameleon.... a 10 year old could do it!

OK so if you have at all followed the threads you know that various things don't work....

Fingerprint reader..... cameras..... special buttons.....

But brightness works..... touch screen calibration.... and sound..... wifi........

PLEASE dont post telling me to load another OS - that's just really BORING!

I have many other gadgets with every imaginable OS - I would finally like to crack the spastic glidestick issue and SOMEONE must have the file somewhere......

SUCCESS - I finally found a package that works with the UX and Snow Leopard 10.6.8 - it's in the form of a package file so no messing with kexts!

No more dragging rectangles and accidentally moving stuff around.... it puts a new 'trackpad' icon in System Preferences at the bottom - it leaves the 'old' Trackpad icon there - look for the new one.

Just downloaded it sat in a cafe in Spain - will try it later today - was about to tear the UX apart to try to disable in by ripping wires..... So are you 'tap jam'?
