Will report back once succesfull, delete sleepenabler.kext to avoid kp.

Downloading via software updater.....

Edit... kp on _nullcpupowermanagement (remove it)

...boot into safe mode.

Nice one, Neosan. Is there any way to get sleep to work at all, by the way?

Cocoia, so far unsuccessful on sleep, fingerprint, webcam, memory stick and also the shortcut

keys.

But still it's running quite smooth.

Thanks, Neosans, and sorry for this "newbie" question, but I don't understand the whole process to update you took... Could you write them step by step for dummies?
So many thanks!

Didn't know there was an update till i came across this forum.

So i went straight ahead update through " software update " updating from 10.6.4

If you are updating from 10.6.3 and below you need to download the combo update which is around 9++mb.

Before updating check,

System/Library/Extensions/

AND

Extra/Extensions/

_nullcpupowermanagement.kext
_lidsleep.kext
_sleepenabler.kext

remove these kext and put it in the desktop temporily.

Proceed update and reboot.

Shouldn't be a problem.

If KP after reboot , " -v " and see what kext is crashing the booting process.

Reboot into safe mode "-x " and remove the kext and reboot again.

Ps.

10.6.5 system preference few things has changed.

Hope with a Lord as you we can achieve the full-ux-functionality! Hope we can make camera work at least...

I should have my UX in my hands by this time next week. I was wondering in a brief synopsis on 10.6.3 what are the notable things that dont work on the UX?

Well to be frank webcam, sleep, fingerprint, memory stick and shortcut keys.

These will not work unless there are ppl porting the drivers from linux or develop the drivers for osx.

Wifi is user replaceable
touch screen out of sync( but there are commercial drivers for it )
brightness working
cpu throttling working
keyboard and thumb stick working
mic jack, earphone jack and speakers working ( using voodoohda.kext )
lan and video out working
dock working
bluetooth working
cf card working

Hope this helps.

I'm going to see if I can get dirty on sleep and hibernate.
