in case you don't know, you can remap some of those keys with "remapkey.exe" from Microsoft.

Thanks for the tip
I tried the Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit Tools(which includes remapkey
The format only lets you remap already mapped keys
The problem is the Japanese keyboard has keys that are not recognized
I found out the Japanese keyboard is OADG 109A (which is supported 100% in linux)
Changing the hardware to an unsigned japanese keyboard driver in Vista/7 fixed my problem 99%
Only 1 key is unrecognized now
Any of the drivers will do
I couldn't tell any difference
The keys do resolve different addresses so a remap is still possible(I just haven't gotten around to it)
All the japanese keys are already mapped properly except for the Yen key
I remapped the Vaio button to the windows key(Vaio Launcher takes a frustrating ~2 seconds to load even with SLC SSD)
I plan on remapping the Japanese "Yen" key but I haven't gotten around to it
