It's a very great post! I would like add my contribute with SpeedFan, an UX compatible software utility for power management control (CPU/Fan/Voltage handler).
It's available for free over at this link.

Dear benz145, I was planning to enhance the topic with links to all software used to optimize the UX so that everyone will be able to download them and use their full functionality to do that, then decide to purchase them or not later, it's not my problem. Passing out the keygens or key is not illegal because it doesn't mean stealing the software; it means to have the full chance to try out the software with all its complete functions. Shareware concept is trying the software before deciding to purchase or not; and it depends on the trial user, if he is satisfied, then he would purchase, and if he is not, then uninstall and never use again. To get the keygen or software keys it means to tryout how does it feel to get the full software functions, then the rest depends on the ethics of the user, which cannot be controlled by anyone except the user him/herself.
Anyway, I have removed the previous posts, which include the keygens and software keys. I guess our people in this forume are not beginners and they can find anything they want.
for myself I never buy software unless it is very essential to me and I use it frequently everyday. Like Microsoft Office, DriveCrypt, , dictionaries, Visual Mind, but for the rest, which are not substantial or frequent, why should I buy them? If I buy every useful software I must be a millionnaire to spend all that money! but not buying them doesn't mean not trying, or else how can I know if they are good or not?
Regards

Feel free to link people to the official product pages in which they may download the full version or a trial if it is offered.

This isn't matter of ethics. Crap like that can get a site shut down.

Well I guess our site could make a clear statement at top or buttom of pages, stating that displayed topics are the sole responsibility of its publishers, and the site is not responsible for published opinions or thoughts of members. I have seen this in many sites. I think sites which go down are closed only in case they sell pirated software for lower prices.
hey, What happened to the freedom of information act

We'll continue to do what we've been doing, which is not participating in anything that could be considered illegal. This discussion is over.

Nice post for optimization, but it has been proven that there is either little or no performance boost if you disable AERO, sometimes the performance has been worse if AERO is disabled. Go figure.
I'm still not sold on VISTA yet, until MS does something about it there is still the 10-15% drop in performance compared to XP on the same hardware....Time will tell.
