For some reason, the install errors at:
and What's wrong here?
I also get a "cmdow is not a reconized command" despite the program being there...though this does not seem to affect much.
EDIT: apparently copy2gac.exe doesn't exist in the folder its supposed to...there is, however, a copy2gac.exe.config there.
Also, the onscreen keyboard in the tablet writing area doesn't show up. the default windows one works though.
Code: Select all
start /wait rundll32 setupapi.dll InstallHinfSection AllShortcuts 128 tabletpc.net
and
Code: Select all
Windows cannot find Copy2Gac.exe

There is a warning from Microsoft Security Essentials:
Tool:Win32/Cmdow
=> http://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/Threat/Encyclopedia/Entry.aspx?name=Tool%3aWin32%2fCmdow&threatid=18136
I'm confused.
Is this a virus or trojan or any other malware?
EDIT:
OK, it seems this is a programm to hide the command windows during the installation.
Then this "Tablet PC Edition" is not like an "original".
Contains this "package" parts of English language?
I want to create a German XP Tablet Edition from a German XP Pro.
Or is there a German "package"?

Aliases
HideExec.BD (AVG)
WIn32/CMDOW.143 (ESET)
Tool-HideWindow (McAfee)
Application/HideWindow.S (Panda)
Trojan.HideWindow (Sunbelt Software)
SecurityRisk.Cmdow (Symantec)
HKTL_HIDEWIN.AA (Trend Micro)
RiskTool.HideWindows.K (VirusBuster)

Hi, Thanks for the XP to XP tablet conversion.
I have read the page about creating a modified SVCPACK.INF file but I skipped the section about installing WMP 9/10 as I have WMP11 in XP PRO which I converted to XP tablet
(http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/24/)
Maybe I did too many steps, most of it works fine however there is some bugs/faults I've discovered:
When Installing I got an error saying 'Installation failed'
The command that CMD is handling when it says it is:
I am Unsure if this is related to the MS .net 'copy2gac.exe could not be found' as the error above it appeared right after that error.
I have found the file on modified the XP ISO so I copied it over however this was after windows XP tablet was installed so it may still not be working.
I am also unsure if this has anything to do with the bugs/faults listed above, I doubt it unless the installation failed is related to tsbletpc.net or setupapi.dll
Here is the source for SVCPACK.INF:
Any Ideas how to fix these?
Regards, Snipe

- 'Keyboard in the Tablet PC Input Panel is missing
- 'Undocked' option for the Tablet PC Input Panel closes the panel for some reason.
- 'Tablet PC' tab in 'Tablet and Pen Settings' missing
- 'Settings' button for each 'Pen Action' in 'Pen Options', 'Tablet and Pen Settings' does not do anything
- 'Tablet PC Tutorials', the page that had them has been replaced by Microsoft and I don't know if Google cache has the page or if somebody has it as an offline HTML file/other file type
- 'System Update' web page is there but part of it displays an error
