Yes, the Touch Launcher, BOTH cameras, Zoom, everything works. (I personally don't use the fingerprint scanner but earlier in this thread others had several options for Upeck software)

I stumbled across my UX280P and realized how much fun these UX models can be. after revisiting this forum, i found this thread and took the Win7 plunge.

For those of you that find setting of permissions on the famous model.txt file difficult, try this:
Open the file in Notepad` change model to "VGN-UX490n" and File --> Save (don't close or exit Notepad). After you execute each driver/app from downloads, wait for first Sony logo screen to appear (this is when they read model data from device/hardware and write to the model.txt file). before pressing the Next button, click back to Notepad with new model number still showing, now File --> Save (don't close or exit Notepad), now click back to install wizard/app - no issues or errors!

Of course when you reboot after prompted, you will need to reopen model.txt again.

Thanks for all the hard work put into this thread guys!!!

Quick Question when installing win 7 using gabe's pack.

Do you need to install the drivers in vista compatibility mode or just run it in the win 7environment ?

Thanks

I did a clean install of win7 & ran the driver exe's directly. (no vista mode - blehh!)
Be sure to read the readme file to avoid problems with installing utilities, esp the camera.

UPDATE:

Ran into an issue with my left click button not working in certain sections of windows 7 like "my computer" double clicking on certain drives to open them only worked half the time I taught it was a hardware issue but did some testing to find out it was software.

Anyways I rolled back the driver in device manager for the mouse to the driver that windows 7 uses and it seems to be working fine now.

Anyone else with this issue ?

I actually have that problem on my Dell laptop, I'll check my UX later. When I try to double click, Win7 registered the clicks slow enough that instead of opening a folder, it would highlight/rename it - very annoying. (changing click speed doesn't seem to help.

If you use the generic driver, doesn't that leave the stickpointer in "super-sensitive push to click" mode? Were you using the Alps driver from Gabe's pack?
