Yes. Any model BIOS file will work on any other model of UX. You will need to edit your model.txt file to say Model = "UX-390n" and then lock it before reunning th BIOS update though. (The 'model.txt' trick)

I am struggling to understand how to enable Intel VT on this server. If anyone could provide steps on how to do this it would be much appreciated.I understand that it should be doable via the BIOS, however I cannot find the option. I have checked the HP site, and this server is VT capable.

The Bios update only Sony's website is only for Vista. How do I update the bios under XP?

Just for the record, if you are using BIOS version R0073N2 (aka latest XP one for UX280P), the line you should change is the one that says:

Code: Select all

(036F) [0000]

I discovered it via an "educated guess", so you are on your own. It works here on my UX280P.

Technically one can use higher BIOS versions with the UX280P (i.e. using model.txt trick) but I found that newer versions such as R0112N2 disable secure erasing the SSD.

They also remove the boot animation and jingle
