It kept switching itself ON & OFF most of the time and the coverage got 70% less than what I experienced using Vista.

I've tried it in Vista and I've "Excellent" coverage and now with XP, I've got "Very Low" coverage.

Can anyone here pls here post a link where I can download the right (perfect) driver for XP Pro SP2? If can, pls explain step-by-step how to uninstall and install the driver correctly. Thanks in advanced. Cheers!


This exact problem has happened to me, did you manage to get it fixed with a older driver ??

No :( But I've got to live with it for the moment... Anyway, I'm still looking for a better driver for it. Have you got any luck fixing it over at your side? Let me know... Cheers!

the most stable driver seems to be 10.5, i downgraded and havent had an issue since, you can get it off intels site

Yeah I am now running XP and 10.5 seems to be the most stable driver at this time :)

I'm use UX280P with windowXP SP2.
At first, after upgrade to V.11.1.1.0 I got the exact problem but now after some trial I've got it run perfectly.
Here is my steps:
1. Uninstall intel wireless software connection and driver, delete intel folder from local disk/program files.Reboot.
2. install intel wireless driver from vaio recovery, this will install software connection too (mine v.10.1 or v.10.2, I forgot exactly).Reboot.
3. Connect to at least 1 access point to add profile, then MOST important thing (I think), use window to manage wifi then connect and add profile too. After this go back manage to intel.Reboot.
4. Upgrade to v.10.5 (download from sony support).Reboot.
5. Repeat step 3.
6. Upgrade to v.11.1.0.0 (download from intel support).Reboot.
7. Repeat step 3.
8. Upgrade to v.11.1.1.0. Reboot.
9. The latest Intel Pro software Connection work !
I know this steps to much reboot, I just want to make sure this work perfectly.
Note: I think we can install latest version after step 5 even after step 3 but I've not try.

I hope this will help other members who have issue with latest intel wireless and hope understand with my english too.:D

I understand, my question though .. how stable are these drivers ( the latest 11.1.1.0 ) do you get better range at all ??

Just seems like a lot of work and if 10.5 drivers are just as good why upgrade ?

Yes, the latest driver as stable as 10.5 and it get better range a little. One thing I can tell for sure that in v11.1.1.0 the signal quality more accurate between poor & Excellent. When I use v.10.5, I get excellent meter signal quality no matter how close or far away from access point as long as you connected from it.
In my opinion the newer version must be better from the older version.

The latest driver is v11.1.1.11 Date: 5/25/2007

But, I've not tried it yet... Will do it later. Keeping my fingers crossed...
Anyway, where can I download the v10.5? I can't find it...:confused:

The installer you provided is not compatible with my UX91NS (Japanese Model) :(
