Hum... I think it should be a very nice platform for the latest OSX... do someone know how to make it happen?

It makes <>53k at crystalmark... not bad for windows7.

But it runs HOT... if I was thinking my UX490 with 7700 was too hot at 69°c... think of 93°c!!! And believe me, the fans are at full speed... the noise level is incredible! and the throttling down is almost always on...

It lasts 2 hours with the extended battery (watching streamed movie through wifi).

Too bad... a UX490 modified by Anh is way more usable than this one. Anyway, I like it much more than any iPad... it remains a full featured computer in less than 2 pounds. (and I paid it NIB for less than 299€)

hmm 2 hours is not very good, especially with an extended battery attached.

My u7700 UX can playback movies streaming over wifi for just over 3 hours on its extended battery, and its tech is much older than the w100

hmm, maybe the hardware acceleration is not working or not setup on the w100. If thats the best it can do, it indeed is very disappointing and we can safely say hardware accel hd video is inferior to software in this w100.

Also during this streaming video test, was the second screen disabled! If not, alot of extra battery is required to power 2 screens. The ux with physical keyboard is indeed superior as it does not require 2 screens for effective data input.

the screens dont use that much. they are led. its like 1 watt if that not 6 watts like old screens. look at the ux screen. you put the brightness down and the power difference is almost unchanged. i dont know about the keyboards. i quite like capacitance touch keyboards for long stuff.

actually, changing brightness on my ux makes a bit of difference. if i set 2 off darkest brightness, vs medium brightness is about 1 watt alone. Max brightness uses just under another watt on top. So thereabout from low brightness to max brightness there is a 3 watt thereabouts difference. This does make a difference in battery life on the ux.
