hmm nice, agree with computercowboy, touchscreen keyboard would take a bit to get used to. But I cant say much for the ux thumb board being that much better, heh.
Depending on application, the u7700 mod ux should still be faster than the u7500 for the likes of processing images and busines assumung it does not overheat hehe. For video playback the u7500 should outclass the u7700 easily thx to hardware acceleration. got to wonder about the power consumption of these new chips.

I just got a P11z and the screen is amazing. The major design flaw with this has to be it's passive cooling (No fan). This means that when you watch a video in full screen things start to heat up. As soon as you pass about 58-60 degrees speedstep kicks in and downclocks the processor, which in my case turns it to 800mhz and the video becomes a slide show.
And looking at the internal piccies theres not much room to try and get a fan in there. Curiously for a passive system it has only one air vent on the left side.

Cool! you will have to tell us all about it. I imagine you will be using a bluetooth keyboard with it at your desk.

I didn't know it was passive, at least it is quite that way!
We shall have to come up with a mod for it. I am planning on tracking down the fastest Atom processor, the 2.13Ghz Z560, so Anh can replace the 1.60Ghz Z530 that it comes with... I imagine that will just exacerbate the overheating problem even more though.

not a fan of intels gma500 using in the p series. It has serious performance issues for aero in windows 7 and vista. Its sooo slow. Even with the z540 cpu, its pretty useless. Most people I know have gone back to xp as it runs great there.
For me the gma950 in the ux seems much better, and u1400 cpu responds quicker than z540.
Basically I am not a fan of of intel atom cpus although the 2.4watt power consumption is definately attractive.
U5400 in w100 should trounce p series any day as it is not an atom

The computer is not for me, it is basically for my GF to use Outlook, Word and Chrome.
She is a poet. I know it is not fast but it will fit in her purse and it is easy when we go on road trips. I am trying to make her career more portable. I am getting her a telecommute job like I have so that she can earn more money and have more freedom.

Yea the new P is really nice, It arrived yesterday and I got to play with it a little bit. It is not fast but it is very small and the screen and keyboard are way more usable than the UX

yer, i keep miss typing letters on my ux. Sony really should have done some r&d before putting that keyboard into commission. The P series keyboard is surprisingly very good. So to get around this keyboard problem, I use a bluetooth external folding keyboard for any major typing requirements.
As for formfactor the P series is ideal for shoulderbag or purse storage on the road. The UX although alot thicker has a smaller footprint and fits nicely in my jacket pocket.
Suspect this new toshiba w100 is like between the P series and ux although with no physical keys it will interesting to see how the virtual on screen keyboard go.

the toshiba is cool, I would think that a bluetooth keyboard would be great to have with that also. You could set it up like a book in front of you (on it's side) that would be pretty cool
obviously a bt mouse would be required also if you set i up like that.
