It's real... akihabaranews has the full scoop and video. Battery life under Windows 7 however isn't very impressive but it seems it's running the Atom for both OSes which means with a different OS, and the same power saving scheme as the Symbian it could be a different story.

Now, if only this thing could run a standard linux distro like Debian 6.0 rather than Win7 and instead of Symbian, Android... :)

Of course without Linux and with such poor main OS battery life, the specs of this thing are all we have to go on and it's poor... Atom Z600, 1GB RAM, 32GB SSD... the UX is still significantly better which is quite sad as this is a 2011 release and the UX is 2006's tech.

Specs can be found here.

As I have said in the past, clearly it's also a global recession on innovation.

Only 2 hours on Windows. I really liked this thing until I read that.

computercowboy, good call on the battery life. But one has to realize how small the unit is! Its like 1/3 the volume of a ux! There really is not much space to put in a big endurance battery. If I am not wrong the toshiba w100 dual screen tablet pc only gets about 3 hours which too is not that hot, but the Cpu is a real x86 cpu dual core.

Suspect for longer battery life I am sure some tech group will come out with an extended battery for it that will strap onto the back say doubling the thickness to achieve battery life more like 4 hours.

What is impressive is it's ability to go into low power mobile phone mode. How does the atom do this!! Must either be in sleep mode to have such long talk times. Or could there be physically more than one cpu inside! ie one low power for mobile phone use, and atom cpu for pc mode. If so it would be the first hybrid phone ;)

BTW, this unit is out now, guys =) Of course, don't expect it to show up state-side... the Cell side of it is geared for Japan's provider (NTT, if I recall)... Still, I'd sure love to take a look at one... Wonder if Dynamism or any of the other boutique importers will actually sell it.

on a japanese wikipedia article about fujitsu loox f-07c, on summary table, it says that the phone/pc has 2 CPU's. I checked the sources, but those articles didn't mention it has 2 cpu's.

maybe the guy who wrote(or vandalized) the article on wikipedia misinterpreted "hyper-threading", or intended to mislead, as that's usual on wikipedia.

hey guys is runs of 5v. 2hours battery im sorry this is the easiest pc to fined an external battery for. you guys should reed up on the atom it has.

built in ram(i think) built in north bridge built in everything and it only uses 1.3watts

i am 90%shore it has built in ram cos the higher levels for that atom series are slimier but have a different type of ram so it should be built in.

that means means if anh upgrades we can get a very good little pc with 2gb of ram.

get it running android and im sold. for me its a choice between xperia pro (not mini) or this
UX37GN - taking out the pcie wifi. adding internal usb hib with wifi and adding a broadcom crustal hd

acer aspire one a150. 1.6ghz 1.5gb ram. 6cell battery :D
EEE PC 900. 9" 900mhz 2gb ram. i have been messing around with windows 7 and 8 hehe
