Oqo 03?

Postby WARBLADEZ » Wed Nov 09, 2011 03:36

Just found this site. It seems the chinese tried to revive oqo last year.

http://www.engadget.com/2010/08/03/oqo-crawls-back-from-the-dead-releasing-model-03-in-china-this/

http://newpanorama.en.made-in-china.com/product/NqWnVBiKyskh/China-Ultra-Mobile-PC-Win7-Intel-Z550-SSD128GB-DDR2-2GB-GMA500-OQO-MODEL03-.html

I think the oqo 03 they're talking about here is the unreleased model 2+.

It's underpowered and very expensive.
I like the multi-touch screen and 2gb ram though.

wow, it boasts like 10 hour battery life. i am impressed if this version 3 can live up to expectation. also of interest is the screen. I have read on numerous occasions that the lcd on devices like fujitsu win7 phone to be not the best. will this device be better?

Yes, the key thing is now to wait and see what reports emerge from the buyer(s) of the new OQO as to quality and performance....

I expect to possibly see some reports show up either at OQOTalk or OQOasis forums sometime soon.....

If your referring to the tiny Fujitsu F-07C Win7/Modded Symbian phone, I had one briefly...display was excellent...sold it due to other issues with device that made it problematic for me to use (no USB device support onboard, can't boot straight up into Win7, have to first boot to Symbian and then switch over to Win7, etc....)....

think was referring to the exposed LED backlights distribution for the Fujitsu. Some people have been saying that the distribution was not the best, plus on certain angles on can see the LEDs.

Here's a review of the OQO 03 from a Chinese website PConline:

The device looks good. The only problem is the crazy tag price: about 3600 USD.

By the specs it sounds sorta like it's a "new" UX280 with more RAM & batt life ("fast" Atom vs "slow" Core Solo) & a bigger price tag. The keyboard is even smaller than UX.

agreed, mabe the position of the keyboard will make it easier to type than the ux maybe. in the past oqo had the better keyboard than the ux, but on saying that, the oqo also had larger screen making easier to read for the hard of sight.

Now oqo 3 with smaller keyboard, higher res small screen, does seem like its more ux than oqo, with the exception of a low performing, long battery life atom

OQO 3 has same overall physical design as OQO 02. Just the internals are different/newer.....

FWIW, I would love to have the OQO physical design with the Sony UX internals/modded cpu inside....think the OQO's keyboard is excellent and display is very nice too...
